UK-based AMT has partnered with US equipment financier GreatAmerica to introduce a bundled monthly subscription model for its PostPro SFX desktop vapor smoothing system in the North American market. Unveiled at RAPID+TCT 2026 in Boston, the program offers a single $999 monthly payment that covers hardware, shipping, consumables, warranty, and import duties with zero upfront capital expenditure. Brad Duermit, AMT's US Market Director, confirmed that fulfillment is managed through the company's domestic facility in Texas to ensure a stable logistics chain and fixed cost structure for North American manufacturers.
This financial arrangement addresses a significant barrier to entry in the post-processing sector: the high initial capital outlay required for professional-grade finishing equipment. By converting a traditional CapEx investment into a predictable OpEx line item, AMT is targeting small-to-medium enterprises and service bureaus that utilize SLS, MJF, HSS, and FDM/FFF technologies. The PostPro SFX is designed to resolve surface roughness and porosity issues, making parts suitable for end-use applications. This move places AMT in a strategic position to capture market share from competitors by lowering the financial threshold for adopting automated chemical vapor smoothing.
For AMT, the success of this model depends on maintaining high consumable turnover and minimizing service interventions to protect the margins of the subscription bundle. Buyers should evaluate their monthly throughput requirements to ensure the $999 fixed cost aligns with their production volume. The transition to a service-based model requires AMT to manage a larger distributed fleet of hardware while ensuring the Texas-based logistics and support infrastructure can scale alongside adoption rates.
