Aurrigo International plc has officially opened a new 130,615sq ft advanced manufacturing and engineering hub at Power Park in Coventry, UK. Following a £14.1 million capital raise late last year, the company is utilizing this expanded facility to scale production of its autonomous vehicle portfolio, including the Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo, and Auto-Shuttle. CEO Professor David Keene confirmed the site will serve as the central node for the company's international hub and licensing programme, which targets expansion across Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the USA. The facility is specifically designed to support the delivery of a £6.28 million contract with Ultra Global for 25 autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs).
This expansion addresses the critical bottleneck of scaling autonomous hardware from prototype to high-volume commercial deployment. By increasing its footprint more than threefold, Aurrigo is positioning itself to meet the rising demand for autonomous mobility in logistics and aviation, where it already operates in 12 global airports including Schiphol and Zurich. The move into Coventry places the company within a specialized UK electrification and clean mobility cluster, providing the necessary infrastructure for rapid hardware iteration. The facility's integrated on-site test track allows for closed-loop validation of software and hardware, reducing the development cycles typically required for mobile robotics platforms.
To reach the target capacity of 500 vehicles per year, Aurrigo must now successfully transition from low-volume engineering to high-throughput manufacturing processes. The company's ability to execute its international licensing model will depend on how effectively it can export its proprietary IP and technical know-how to regional partners. Success will be measured by the seamless integration of its software stack with the physical hardware produced at this new Coventry site while managing the capital requirements of global scaling.
