Centrol has officially released the SENTROL allution SB400, South Korea's first industrial-grade binder jetting 3D printer. The system utilizes inkjet printing heads to deposit specialized binders onto powder beds, bypassing the need for high-power lasers. The SB400 features a build volume of 300x420x150mm and is designed for high-temperature applications, capable of withstanding environments exceeding 1800 degrees Celsius. To ensure material reliability, Centrol collaborated with Japan's Asahi Glass to develop specialized inorganic binders and foundry sand materials.

This development targets the heavy industrial sectors of casting, foundry, and mold making, where traditional laser-based metal AM often faces cost and speed limitations. By utilizing binder jetting, the SB400 addresses the demand for large-scale, eco-friendly sand molds and ceramic components. The ability to process foundry sand, cement, ceramics, and metal powders positions Centrol as a specialized hardware provider in the sand casting and refractory material value chain. This moves the technology beyond prototyping into functional industrial tooling and large-scale casting production.
