HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions and the global manufacturing platform Craftcloud have launched a dedicated on-demand portal, hp.craftcloud3d.com, to facilitate the sourcing of Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) parts. The service allows engineers to upload digital files for instant quoting and connects them directly to a vetted global network of HP MJF production partners. The portal supports a specific range of certified materials, including HP 3D High Reusability PA 12, PA 12 S, PA 12 FR, and PA 12 W. To incentivize adoption of the upcoming MJF 1200 system, HP is offering a 20% discount on service orders up to $2,000 for new machine purchasers, alongside a credit structure that can provide up to $20,000 toward the MJF 1200 purchase price.

This partnership addresses the friction between in-house hardware investment and the fragmented service bureau market. By providing a unified interface for MJF technology, HP is attempting to capture the high-volume, low-to-medium complexity polymer market that sits between rapid prototyping and traditional injection molding. While competitors like Formlabs or Stratasys focus heavily on direct hardware sales or proprietary service networks, HP is leveraging Craftcloud to scale its MJF ecosystem without the capital expenditure of managing its own global service bureaus. This strategy targets the growing demand for digital inventory and short-run manufacturing across sectors like automotive and consumer goods.

For HP, this move is a strategic play to increase the total addressable market for MJF technology by lowering the barrier to entry for users who are not yet ready for full-scale in-house production. The success of this initiative depends on the ability of the vetted partner network to maintain strict quality standards across diverse geographic locations. Users should view this as a way to test MJF material properties and part performance before committing to the MJF 1200 hardware slated for 2027.
