The device eliminates the need for wiring and physical markers, targeting large complex part scanning in aerospace, automotive, and quality control workflows. It integrates temperature sensors to mitigate accuracy drift, addressing a persistent pain point in shop-floor metrology environments where thermal variation degrades scan reliability.

The Trackit SR enters a competitive landscape dominated by Creaform (AMETEK) and GOM (ZEISS) in high-end portable metrology, and by Scantech and Hualang 3D in the Chinese domestic market. Shining 3D’s differentiation lies in combining markerless optical tracking with wireless operation at a sub-0.02 mm accuracy tier - a specification that historically required either fixed coordinate measuring machines or marker-dense photogrammetry setups.
