Kraków-based Sinterit has officially launched its 3D Printing Academy, a free online educational platform designed to provide structured technical training in Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). The academy is organized into three distinct learning pathways: Fundamentals, Engineers, and Business. The curriculum utilizes a multi-modal approach including e-books, videos, infographics, podcasts, and technical calculators delivered via a daily email sequence to ensure consistent knowledge retention for users.
The Fundamentals track provides a baseline understanding of the additive manufacturing landscape, comparing SLS to FDM and SLA technologies. The Engineers track focuses on high-level technical parameters such as laser power, scanning speed, powder management, and the mechanical properties of specialized materials like flexible and ESD powders. The Business track addresses the economic side of adoption, covering ROI calculations and the logistics of in-house production versus outsourcing. This initiative targets the significant knowledge gap in the polymer AM sector where high-level technical expertise is often siloed within specific OEM ecosystems.
By providing free, rigorous training, Sinterit is attempting to lower the barrier to entry for SLS technology adoption, which is traditionally hindered by the complexity of powder-based workflows. For hardware manufacturers, this serves as a strategic top-of-funnel tool to build a more competent user base and reduce common operational errors during the implementation phase. Prospective users should utilize these modules to validate their internal technical readiness before investing in SLS hardware or material procurement.
