Xi'an Intelligent Manufacture has unveiled its Forging-Printing hybrid technology for the production of full 3D printed turbofan engines. By integrating pulse laser shockwaves into the SLM process, the i3D-300 system achieves layer-by-layer forging to eliminate internal porosity. This allows additive components to reach or exceed mechanical properties of traditional forgings, overcoming fatigue life bottlenecks.
