6K Additive has appointed Ampere ALLOYS as its official distributor for the European market, giving manufacturers direct access to its full suite of metal powders including titanium, nickel-based superalloys, and refractory metals. Ampere ALLOYS, a specialist in metals and ferro-alloys with ISO 9001:2015 certification and AEO status, will handle sales, first-line technical support, and localized distribution from its network of 12 European warehouses. The partnership follows CEO Frank Roberts' recent indication that a European expansion, potentially including a dedicated production facility, is on the company's agenda with a $27 million EXIM investment likely to accelerate those plans.

This distribution agreement is a pragmatic step for 6K Additive, which has lacked a comprehensive European presence despite appointing a European Sales Director in 2022. Rather than building its own logistics infrastructure from scratch, the company is leveraging Ampere ALLOYS' established regional network to serve aerospace, defense, medical, and energy customers. For European AM users, the arrangement reduces lead times and simplifies procurement of 6K's materials, which are produced via the company's UniMelt microwave plasma process that converts scrap into spherical powder. The move reflects a broader pattern where materials suppliers use specialized distributors to bridge the gap between production capability and regional market access, particularly in regulated verticals where local stock and responsive support matter as much as powder specifications.
