AM North adopts amsight quality management software, cutting per-project documentation time from 8 hours to under 2 hours

AM North, a Norwegian additive manufacturing service provider based in Hammerfest, has adopted amsight's quality management software to strengthen traceability and cut manual documentation for certified production work. Founded in 2023 to help industrial customers in northern Norway shift from physical spare-part inventories to on-demand digital manufacturing, the company built its early customer base in the oil and gas supply chain and is now expanding into fish farming, defense, and mining. amsight links planning, build-job, machine-monitoring, post-processing, and inspection data so acceptance criteria can be checked and documented consistently. AM North reports documentation time per project has dropped from roughly eight hours to 1.5-2 hours since deployment.

The move shows quality-evidence software becoming a prerequisite rather than an add-on for AM providers pursuing certification-driven work; AM North cites DNV-related certification expectations as a direct driver, tying the purchase to specific auditor and customer demands rather than general efficiency goals. It also shows the software-and-service layer of the AM value chain reaching beyond established aerospace and medical primes into smaller regional producers serving industrial spare-part markets, where traceability tooling substitutes for the in-house quality departments larger OEMs already maintain. AM North does not appear in AMPulse's company index, a reminder that certified-production adoption is occurring below the visibility threshold of typical AM market tracking.
