Bambu Lab’s MakerWorld has partnered with Insta360 on the Luna Ultra Design Challenge, inviting global creators to develop accessories and modifications for Insta360’s dual-lens 8K gimbal camera. Insta360 has released official 3MF and STL files so participants can design around verified camera geometry rather than reverse-engineering fit. The programme offers more than $11,000 in prizes across model-design and social-content tracks, with submissions open from July 10 to August 9 and final winners due August 20. A Mystery Grand Prize may take one selected concept into product development.

For Bambu Lab, the partnership extends MakerWorld from a model-sharing destination into a channel for brand-authorized, application-specific FDM/FFF accessory development. Official design files reduce fitment risk and give the platform a stronger reason for camera owners to create, print and publish functional products within its ecosystem. The campaign also lets Bambu Lab associate its printers with consumer-electronics customization without claiming that printed accessories are production camera components. Practically, MakerWorld gains a test case for whether licensed hardware files and prize-led design briefs can generate reusable accessory libraries and printer demand.
