Dassault Systèmes launches 16th AAKRUTI competition with $20,000 prize pool and CSWA/CSWP certifications

Dassault Systèmes has opened the 16th edition of its AAKRUTI global student design and innovation competition, running through the 2026–27 academic year. The contest features four thematic tracks - robotics, local community challenges, healthcare, and mobility - and requires participants to use the company’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform and SOLIDWORKS software. The prize pool has been raised to $20,000 in cash, plus SOLIDWORKS licenses for top entries, and every participant gains access to industry-recognized CSWA and CSWP certification pathways. Dassault estimates it invests nearly $1 million annually in the program through certifications, licenses, and awards; in the previous cycle alone, over 2,000 certifications were issued, representing roughly $396,000 in upskilling value. Since inception, more than 75,000 students from over 1,000 institutions across 37 countries have participated, with approximately 500 alumni now employed at major global organizations. The Global Finale will be held at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2027 in Nashville.

This competition sits at the intersection of two structural dynamics in the additive manufacturing industry: the persistent gap between academic training and the digital design skills employers actually demand, and the growing importance of software ecosystems as competitive moats.
