Gravity Pull Systems has released an updated version of PAAM (Personal AM Assistant), its toolpath-optimization software for metal laser powder bed fusion. The tool inspects slicer and build files to flag geometry- and process-driven risks such as porosity potential, multi-laser interference, and gas-flow sensitivity, then applies automated corrections without manual scripting or large training datasets. PAAM already runs in workflows tied to EOS, Nikon SLM Solutions, Aconity, and Materialise systems, Oerlikon AM has licensed it, and the software has been tested in industrial aerospace applications. Gravity Pull Systems is now opening PAAM Diagnostic Benchmark projects to metal AM service providers and industrial users.

The update targets a layer of production risk that build-preparation tools like Additive Works' Amphyon handle mainly at the geometry level, and that Alloyed addresses through custom toolpath algorithms for multi-laser systems, rather than the scan-path layer itself. For metal LPBF shops facing qualification pressure, toolpath-driven defects complicate requalification paperwork as much as they affect part quality, so catching scan-path risk before the first build addresses a real cost driver in aerospace and other regulated production. The practical test is whether Diagnostic Benchmark results convert integration-partner visibility into paid adoption among service bureaus.
