HeyGears raises over $7M on Kickstarter for G1 full-color and UV desktop printer

HeyGears opened Kickstarter for its G1 series on July 23, 2026, and raised more than $7 million within days of launch. The modular desktop system combines full-color 3D printing, textured 3D UV printing, and flat 2D UV printing in one device. On the G1X, piezo-inkjet deposition with UV curing builds colored materials layer by layer, enabling gradients and fine detail without post-painting and allowing transparent and pigmented materials in a single part. Water-soluble supports target complex geometries, while UV work uses an Epson i3200 head with 3,200 nozzles, eight ink channels, 3.9-picoliter droplets, and stated resolution up to 1440 × 2400 dpi.

That total is meaningful for desktop full-color inkjet hardware aimed at creatives, personalization shops, and small production studios rather than industrial qualification paths. HeyGears pairs the hardware with HeyVerse and Blueprint Studio for asset libraries, text- and image-driven model generation, surface textures, and pre-print material estimates across more than 400 listed base materials. Super-early-bird G1 Starter Pack pricing is $1,999 versus a $2,699 list; G1X packages run $3,299–$6,999, with retail as high as $10,998. Object detection for flat and cylindrical motifs, including series work, frames G1 as a service-studio tool for collectibles, phone cases, signs, packaging patterns, and promo items-not a commodity FDM box.

The "first desktop of its kind" claim is unverified; fulfillment quality and color stability at delivered units will decide whether the Kickstarter surge converts into lasting studio adoption.
