HeyGears has launched the G1X, a desktop-scale system that integrates full-color 3D printing, 3D texture creation, and 2D UV flatbed printing into a single platform. The machine uses an Epson I3200 industrial-grade printhead with an eight-channel ink set (CMYK + Double White + Water-Soluble Support + Transparent) and achieves up to 1440 × 2400 DPI resolution in UV mode. In 3D mode, it produces full-color models and deep relief prints up to 150 mm in height, while UV mode supports printing on 400+ materials including metal, acrylic, wood, leather, and ceramics with raised textures up to 5 mm. The G1X is launching via Kickstarter with early bird pricing, supported by HeyGears' AI-powered HeyVerse and Blueprint Studio software for text-to-3D generation and automated print layout.

The G1X targets a persistent gap in desktop AM: the inability to produce high-resolution, full-color parts without post-processing painting or multi-material FDM waste towers. Traditional full-color 3D printing has been confined to industrial binder jetting systems costing tens of thousands of dollars, while UV printing and 3D printing have remained separate workflows. By combining both in a single desktop unit, HeyGears is addressing the customization and small-batch production needs of creators, studios, and small businesses-a segment that has grown alongside the consumer electronics and industrial-tooling verticals but lacks integrated color solutions. The system's AI-assisted design tools lower the barrier for users without 3D modeling experience, potentially expanding the addressable market beyond professional designers into broader maker and light-production use cases.

The G1X is a pragmatic product update rather than a category invention: it consolidates existing technologies (DLP-based color 3D printing and UV flatbed printing) into a single chassis with improved software integration. HeyGears must now demonstrate reliable print quality across both modes, consistent ink delivery over long print runs, and a software workflow that genuinely simplifies color management-areas where previous desktop color systems have stumbled. For buyers, the G1X offers a genuine alternative to outsourcing color parts or investing in separate UV and 3D printers, but its value depends on material compatibility, color fidelity, and the durability of printed textures in real-world use.
