Link Solution, a South Korean industrial 3D printer manufacturer, has renewed its business agreement with the Republic of Korea Army's 7th Logistics Support Group to continue advancing defense additive manufacturing capabilities. Originally signed in June 2024, the extended partnership builds on the successful pilot deployment of Link Solution's mobile 3D printer, the AM Fab, which was introduced through the Public Procurement Service's innovation product trial program. The AM Fab is designed to produce discontinued or hard-to-source repair parts and drone components directly in field environments, aiming to reduce supply chain delays and improve operational readiness. CEO Choi Geun-sik and unit commander Yang Dae-hyun both emphasized the value of operational data collected during the initial phase.
This renewal signals that the ROK Army's initial experiment with mobile polymer 3D printing has produced meaningful results, validating the concept of on-demand spare parts manufacturing at the tactical edge.
