M&H CNC Technik, a German precision machining and additive manufacturing service provider, has commissioned two new Farsoon additive manufacturing systems at its Ilz facility in Styria, Austria. The company has also been named a European technology partner for Farsoon, expanding its role beyond customer to include technical validation and application development for the Chinese OEM in the region. Specific machine models and build volumes were not disclosed, but the installation adds polymer laser sintering capacity to M&H's existing AM portfolio.

This move reflects a recurring pattern in the AM industry: Western service bureaus deepening ties with Chinese OEMs to access competitive hardware pricing and expanding material ecosystems, while Chinese manufacturers gain localized application credibility and service infrastructure. M&H CNC Technik, traditionally known for CNC machining and jig/fixture work, is positioning itself as a bridge between Farsoon's hardware and European industrial end-users, particularly in automotive and industrial tooling. The partnership signals that Chinese AM OEMs are no longer just exporting machines — they are investing in regional technical support and co-development relationships to overcome qualification and adoption barriers in conservative European markets.

For M&H, the practical value lies in expanding its polymer AM capacity without the capital burden of Western OEM equipment, while gaining early access to Farsoon's material and process updates. For Farsoon, the partnership provides a credible European reference site for application development and customer demonstrations. The real test will be whether M&H can convert this capacity into repeat production orders from existing machining clients, rather than simply adding another technology option to its floor. Service bureaus that treat AM as an add-on rather than a dedicated production line often struggle to achieve utilization rates that justify the investment.
