Massivit signs MoU with Lohia Aerospace to launch India's first large-format composite additive manufacturing alliance for aerospace tooling

Lohia Aerospace Systems, based in Kanpur, India, signed a memorandum of understanding with Massivit on August 4 to establish a Joint Manufacturing Alliance. The agreement brings Massivit's large-format additive manufacturing technology to India for the first time, targeting composite tooling and critical aerospace parts production. Massivit, positioned by the announcement as the global leader in large-format additive manufacturing, will supply its printing systems and process expertise to the alliance's India-based manufacturing capability. The MoU does not disclose deal value, unit counts, or a specific product line.

For Massivit, the tie-up extends its addressable footprint into India's expanding aerospace and defense manufacturing base, a market that has relied heavily on imported composite tooling and mold capacity. Large-format AM's core value proposition, replacing conventional composite molds, jigs, and fixtures with printed tooling, sits squarely in the industrial-tooling vertical, where AM adoption is economically significant but rarely covered in mainstream press. Partnering with a local manufacturer lets Massivit establish production presence in India without building a standalone facility, a localization pattern regional AM entrants elsewhere have used to lower cost and secure domestic reference customers. The alliance also places Massivit within India's broader aerospace supply chain buildout, alongside domestic component manufacturers expanding capacity for commercial and defense programs.
