RWTH Aachen University's AddMamBa project is pioneering a circular supply chain by converting steel scrap into metal powder for 3D printing facade brackets. Using a gas atomization process, researchers achieved a 60% recovery rate, producing 30kg of 15-45 micron feedstock from 50kg of waste. This method addresses the construction sector's 37% share of global CO2 emissions, targeting a footprint as low as 23.8 kg CO2e per kg by 2030. This shift from linear waste to localized AM production enables a sustainable, tool-free architectural framework. 🏗️♻️ #AdditiveManufacturing #CircularEconomy #GreenConstruction #Sustainability #3DPrinting
