Roboze, the Italian manufacturer of high-performance polymer and composite 3D printing systems, has joined SABIC's Home of Innovation in Saudi Arabia to support the build-out of local additive manufacturing capacity. The partnership focuses on producing mission-critical components for aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial infrastructure using Roboze's integrated ecosystem of 3D printers, software, and qualified high-performance materials. CEO Alessio Lorusso framed the move as part of a broader national strategy to reduce import dependencies and establish sovereign production capabilities for strategic industries. Roboze is also evaluating local material production to strengthen the supply chain for heat-resistant, mechanically robust polymers.

This partnership fits the recurring pattern of localized capacity-building in regions with strong industrial policy ambitions, similar to moves by Stratasys and EOS into the Middle East. Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 explicitly targets domestic manufacturing expansion, and additive manufacturing offers a path to shorten supply chains for spare parts and low-volume, high-value components. The focus on high-performance thermoplastics - PEEK, PEKK, carbon-fiber-reinforced composites - aligns with demand from energy and aerospace segments where qualification and traceability are prerequisites. Roboze's value proposition rests less on the printer itself and more on the materials qualification discipline and process-control layer, which is exactly what industrial buyers in regulated verticals require before committing to distributed production.

Practically, Roboze must now demonstrate that its systems can deliver repeatable, qualified parts at the scale SABIC's industrial partners expect. The partnership gives Roboze a credible local anchor, but the real test will be whether it can convert SABIC's innovation infrastructure into actual production contracts. For buyers in the region, this means a more accessible path to adopting polymer AM for safety-critical applications, provided Roboze executes on material qualification and service support.
