Stryker-led Empower3D competition awards Irish primary schools for 3D printing designs

Stryker, the global medical technology company, has announced the winners of Empower3D, its national 3D printing design challenge for Irish primary schools. Four schools across Cork, Tipperary, and Louth were recognized in two categories - Best Sustainable Design and Best Learning Journey - for the 2025/2026 programme cycle. Since its launch in 2021, Empower3D has equipped over 160 teachers and 3,200 students with 3D printing tools and training, including more than 500 students from DEIS schools. Winning students visited Stryker’s additive manufacturing facility in Anngrove, County Cork, and received in-person awards from company leadership, including Mag O’Keeffe, Vice President of Advanced Operations and Global Additive Technologies.

This initiative sits within a broader pattern of medical-device manufacturers using community STEM programs to build future talent pipelines and normalize additive manufacturing as a production discipline.
