Farsoon Technologies, the Chinese industrial AM OEM, launched its FS450M automated shoe mold solution on June 12, 2026, at the 2026 Southeast Asia Footwear Additive Manufacturing Forum in Vietnam, co-hosted with local partner Chuanghong Technology. The event drew over 60 representatives from sportswear brands and mold-making enterprises. Farsoon presented the FS450M as a full-process automated platform, addressing safety, process innovation, automation line integration, and localized service support for the footwear sector.
This launch targets a specific production pain point in Southeast Asia's footwear supply chain: the transition from manual or semi-automated mold fabrication to fully digital, AM-driven workflows. Farsoon is positioning the FS450M as a turnkey solution for a region where labor cost advantages are eroding and brand owners are demanding faster design-to-production cycles. The move aligns with the broader pattern of Chinese AM OEMs localizing supply chains and service capacity in high-growth manufacturing hubs, mirroring earlier expansions into automotive and consumer electronics verticals. Vietnam, as a major footwear export base for Nike, Adidas, and others, represents a concentrated demand node where AM can displace conventional CNC and EDM mold-making if the economics and throughput hold.
For Farsoon, the FS450M is a vertical-specific product, not a general-purpose machine. The real test will be whether the automation and material-handling ecosystem around it can deliver repeatable cycle times and cost-per-part that match or beat traditional mold-making in a price-sensitive industry. Buyers should evaluate the FS450M against existing metal PBF-LB shoe mold installations from EOS and SLM Solutions, which have also targeted this application. The partnership with Chuanghong Technology provides local service and application engineering, which is essential for adoption in a market where technical support depth varies widely.
