Formsmith has released SketchForge, a free, open-source browser-based 3D design tool aimed at creating simple parts for 3D printing. The tool is positioned as an alternative to Autodesk Tinkercad rather than a replacement for broader CAD platforms such as FreeCAD or Fusion. SketchForge lets users create and edit shapes, add holes, group solid bodies and cutouts, and export models without requiring an account or cloud connection.
