Originally reported by tradingview.com

Freemelt has secured a follow-on order from a leading Swedish defense company to continue the development and prototype manufacturing of specialized components. This contract follows a successful feasibility study that included material qualification for complex alloys and rigorous application testing. CEO Daniel Gidlund confirmed that the project is now transitioning into the proof-of-concept stage, moving the collaboration closer to potential serial production workflows for defense-grade hardware.

This development is significant within the metal additive manufacturing sector, specifically for Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion (E-PBF) technology. Unlike Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), E-PBF offers higher processing temperatures and faster build rates, which are critical for the high-performance, complex materials required in aerospace and defense applications. By successfully qualifying materials for a major defense prime, Freemelt is addressing the industry's demand for reliable, scalable production of mission-critical parts that must meet stringent certification standards.

For Freemelt to reach its 2030 revenue target of SEK 1 billion, it must successfully bridge the gap between this proof-of-concept phase and full-scale industrial deployment. The company's ability to demonstrate consistent metallurgical quality in complex materials will be the deciding factor in securing long-term serial production contracts. The immediate focus will be on validating the scalability of their eMELT modular industrial printers within the customer's specific production environment.
