Helio Additive has integrated its Dragon simulation engine into OrcaSlicer, the open-source fork of Bambu Studio. The integration is available as a plugin via GitHub, enabling users to run thermal and mechanical voxel-level simulations directly within the slicer workflow. The system analyzes heat transfer and mechanical forces between voxels during a print job, then automatically adjusts parameters to improve success rates. Helio Additive previously integrated with Bambu Studio in 2025, and this OrcaSlicer plugin extends access to a broader user base, including those running non-Bambu Lab hardware. Personal subscriptions start at $10 per month, with commercial plans at $29 per month.

This integration matters because it moves print simulation from a separate, manual upload workflow into the native slicer environment, lowering the friction for users who demand high first-print success rates.
