HeyGears launches G1 and G1X desktop 3D printers on Kickstarter, pricing from $1,999

HeyGears opened its G1 Series campaign on Kickstarter today, offering the G1 and G1X, desktop systems combining full-color 3D printing, 3D-texture printing, and 2D UV printing in one machine priced under $5,000 MSRP. The G1X runs a 420 x 330 x 130mm build volume with millions of colors, texture relief up to 10mm (5mm recommended), and 1440 x 2400 DPI UV printing across more than 400 substrates including metal, wood, glass, and ceramic. Both machines use an industrial Epson I3200 printhead, with the G1X running 8 ink channels versus 6 on the base G1. Super early bird pricing ranges from $1,999 for the G1 Starter Pack to $6,798 for the G1X Full-3D Twin Pack, against MSRPs up to $10,998.

The launch folds three previously separate workflows, color 3D printing, surface texturing, and substrate decoration, into a single desktop unit, targeting small businesses and product designers who currently need multiple machines to move from prototype to painted, textured, branded output. HeyGears has built its reputation on dental and orthodontic-adjacent polymer systems, so the G1 Series marks a push into general prosumer and small-business desktop hardware, a segment where China-based manufacturers have steadily captured share through faster iteration and lower price points. Kickstarter validates pre-order demand but doesn't confirm production yield or delivery timelines, both of which matter more for a multi-process machine with an industrial printhead than for a simple FDM unit.

Buyers evaluating the bundles should weigh the discount against typical crowdfunding fulfillment risk, since a printhead-dependent, multi-mode system has more that can slip in scaling from demo units to backer shipments.
