Phillips Corporation has rebranded its hybrid manufacturing division as Phillips Advanced Manufacturing Solutions (AMS), effective July 2, 2026. The new entity consolidates hybrid machine tools, standalone additive systems, robotic metal deposition cells, and mobile production units under a single brand. Brian Kristaponis, who joined Phillips in 2016 and led the hybrid business since 2023, assumes the role of President of AMS, overseeing strategy, OEM partnerships, applications engineering, sales, service, and expansion into commercial production, government programs, and research institutions. The division's technology partners include Meltio, Fronius, Laserline, InssTek, and MX3D, covering wire-based and laser-based directed energy deposition (DED) as well as large-format robotic additive processes.
This rebranding reflects a broader shift in the industrial additive manufacturing market: the competitive differentiator is no longer the printer alone but the ability to deliver integrated process chains that combine additive deposition with subtractive finishing, quality documentation, and production-ready tolerances. Phillips AMS positions itself as a systems integrator rather than a pure machine vendor, targeting applications where parts must transition seamlessly from print to post-processing within existing factory workflows.
