Phillips Federal equips Navy Danville Schoolhouse with 12 hybrid DED systems and 12 Markforged X7s

Phillips Corporation Federal Division has expanded U.S. Navy advanced manufacturing training at the Danville, Virginia Schoolhouse, delivering systems with BlueForge Alliance, the Navy's procurement partner. The package includes 12 Phillips Hybrid Manufacturing Systems-Haas TM-1P CNC platforms with Meltio directed energy deposition (DED)-and 12 Markforged X7 composite printers for the Afloat Training Program. Sailors will train on metal hybrid workflows that machine and deposit material in one cell to make or repair parts, and on composite printing for tools, fixtures, prototypes, and replacement components.

Defense sustainment is stocking multi-process schoolhouses before wider fleet embed, and hybrid CNC-plus-DED fits depot and expeditionary repair where material is added only where needed. Pairing those cells with Markforged X7 systems gives sailors production-style metal repair and polymer tooling skills without waiting on conventional supply chains.
