xTool, a company best known for its laser engraving and cutting systems, has entered the desktop printing hardware category with the O1 Omni, a multi-process printer capable of handling both rigid materials and textiles. The device integrates UV, DTG (direct-to-garment), DTF (direct-to-film), and UV-DTF printing via two print heads, supporting substrates including wood, acrylic, glass, metal, and fabric. The print bed measures 330 x 122 mm (optionally 330 x 420 mm) with a resolution of 720 x 1440 dpi. xTool Studio software provides automatic object detection, edge recognition, and a texture library for reliefs up to 7 mm. The O1 Omni is available in three editions: UV Edition (€1,549 pre-order, €2,299 retail), Dual-Head UV Edition (€2,499), and UV + Fabric Edition (€2,549), with shipping expected from August 2026.

This launch expands xTool’s addressable market from subtractive laser processing into additive surface printing, a segment currently dominated by specialized industrial equipment from manufacturers such as Roland DG, Mimaki, and Epson. The O1 Omni’s key differentiator is its combination of multiple print methods in a single desktop unit, targeting small businesses, makers, and light industrial users who need to print on both rigid signage materials and textiles without investing in separate machines. The inclusion of OEKO-TEX certification for the fabric edition and a claimed 50-wash-cycle durability for textile prints suggests xTool is aiming at production-quality output, not just prototyping. The device sits at the intersection of the desktop prosumer and light industrial segments, a space where xTool already has distribution and brand recognition from its laser product line.

From a practical standpoint, xTool must now prove that the O1 Omni can deliver consistent print quality across the wide material range it advertises, particularly for textile applications where ink adhesion and wash fastness are critical. The pre-order pricing is aggressive for a multi-process machine, but the recurring ink cost (€20–€33 per cartridge) will determine long-term total cost of ownership for users. Buyers should evaluate whether the integrated workflow-from xTool Studio’s object detection to the pixel scan autofocus-actually reduces setup time compared to dedicated single-purpose printers. This is a credible product extension for xTool, but it enters a market where established industrial players have deep channel relationships and proven reliability.
