Adidas has officially unveiled the BB.01 Additive, its first full 3D-printed performance basketball shoe, developed using the company's Futurecraft technology. The mid-cut silhouette features a lattice-structured resin outsole with variable density zones - higher-density printing in the toe box, heel, and midsole for impact resistance, and more flexible lattice sections on the lateral side for dynamic movement. The shoe integrates a soft textile inner bootie and a one-piece molded three-stripe logo running from heel to collar. The initial "Solar Red/Orbit Grey" colorway will launch on July 14, 2026, exclusively through the Adidas Confirmed app.

This launch represents a meaningful extension of Adidas' Futurecraft platform from lifestyle and running into the high-impact basketball category, a vertical where mechanical demands - rapid directional changes, repeated landings, lateral stability - are far more stringent than in casual footwear.
