BIQU, the company behind the BIGTREETECH 3D printer electronics and accessories brand, has launched 3D-printed sandals under a new consumer label, BIQU Life. The sandals are produced as a single seamless piece with no glue or seams, built around an elastic honeycomb lattice structure designed for cushioning, shock absorption, and ventilation. Pricing sits at 69 US dollars, discounted from 79, across sizes EU 38 to 45 in four colorways, with a 180-day warranty and several size/color variants already sold out. The manufacturer has not disclosed the specific polymer material used in the print.
The move extends a pattern already visible with Creality's Nexbie line: printer OEMs building direct-to-consumer lattice footwear as a low-risk way to monetize their own additive capacity outside the hardware and accessories business. Unlike aerospace or medical lattice work, which carries years of qualification overhead, consumer footwear lets a hardware vendor ship a lattice-based product on ordinary e-commerce timelines and get real user feedback within weeks rather than program cycles. It sits alongside other polymer lattice footwear efforts, such as Kiprun's MJF midsole running shoe, in a small but growing set of production use cases where AM lattice geometry, not machine novelty, is the selling point.
The early reviews cited, comparing firmness to an Asics slide and noting debris caught in the open lattice outdoors, are exactly the kind of practical wear data that aerospace and medical lattice programs take years to accumulate through formal testing. For BIQU, the near-term test is simply retention: whether repeat buyers value the ventilation and rebound enough to accept the price premium over injection-molded sandals, not whether the technology itself works.
