Coptic, operator of the 3D-printed custom eyewear brand Breezm, has closed a KRW 10 billion pre-IPO round from Seven Bridge Private Equity. The package is KRW 7 billion in new equity and KRW 3 billion in secondary shares, taking cumulative capital raised to KRW 29 billion once the primary slice is counted. Frames are made by combining 3D facial scanning, additive manufacturing, and precision vision testing, with 1,221 facial coordinates supporting about 650,000 design combinations plus AI style recommendation and virtual try-on. Output is centered on the Breezm Foundry Seongsu smart factory in Seoul, where Coptic says it recycles 90% of process material and cuts frame carbon emissions by about 80% versus conventional methods.
Custom eyewear is a workable consumer serial home for polymer AM: each unit is geometry-unique, demand is unit-level, and the margin sits in fit and retail conversion rather than printer sales. This raise funds multi-channel scale-domestic specialty stores, more U.S. retail points, stronger e-commerce, and smart-glasses development-while KB Securities leads IPO preparations. That is application-layer AM economics, where the scan-to-fit brand captures value downstream of the machine.
The real gate is whether Seongsu remains a repeatable digital factory as store and online volume rise. Listing will turn unit cost, scrap recovery, and overseas fulfillment into audited metrics, not brand claims.
