Guangzhou Wenbo Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. received a Chinese utility model on 17 July 2026 for a compact heated hopper for polymer pellet, granulate, and powder feed in material-extrusion 3D printing. The design heats, mixes, and force-conveys bulk feedstock instead of storing it passively. Material enters a round vessel via a top conduit and exits a tapered base, with valves on both ports, a fill-level sight glass, and a lid-mounted controller. A metal heating plate with four funnel openings warms the stream under sensor feedback, while a servo-driven stirrer and screw mix softened polymer and push it out to counter bridging and uneven gravity flow.
Pellet-fed FDM/FFF and large-format extrusion still lose stability when feedstock softens above the nozzle, so pre-conditioning hoppers sit in reliability engineering rather than machine marketing. A utility model is simplified IP and does not prove commercial volume, field reliability, or a lasting process moat. For pellet-extruder integrators and large-format polymer shops, the practical test is whether heat-mix-screw conditioning cuts nozzle power demand and raises throughput without new clogging modes on real pellets.
