LightForce Orthodontics has appointed medtech executive Erica Rogers as CEO, moving founder Alfred Griffin to Chief Product Officer while he stays board chairman. The company says more than 200,000 patients have been treated with its Generative Braces system, which pairs orthodontist-directed treatment planning with patient-specific ceramic or metal brackets, direct additive manufacturing, and a placement jig. LightForce is also expanding its metal offering with Light Bracket Metal, a 3D-printed bracket with a flatter profile meant to reduce intraoral bulk. Rogers previously helped scale Silk Road Medical, per LightForce board member Kevin Reilly of Ally Bridge Group.
The leadership change puts a commercial-scaling executive in charge as LightForce shifts from proving out patient-specific bracket manufacturing to running it at volume across more orthodontic practices. Unlike clear aligners, fixed braces require tight coordination between scanning, digital planning, additive production, and chairside placement, so growing case volume raises the bar for automated quality control and traceability. The metal bracket line broadens case coverage beyond ceramic as the company scales.
