Jiangsu Ruilesi 3D Technology Co., Ltd., operating under the brand Ruiles, has closed a nearly 100 million yuan (approximately $14 million) Series A funding round, led by Tongchuangweiye (Co-win Ventures) with participation from Haojun Investment, Wuzhong Financial Holdings, and Shihu Fund. The company, headquartered in Suzhou, China, will use the capital to scale R&D and global expansion of its Phaetus brand of high-performance hotends, extruders, and transmission systems for FDM/FFF 3D printers. Ruiles claims its Rapido X hotend achieves over 100 mm³/s volumetric flow, and its Liber high-flow module supports print speeds up to 1000 mm/s, with proprietary silicon carbide nozzles and ENDCOAT coatings enabling flexible material extrusion at 3.7x higher throughput.
This funding sits squarely within the polymer material extrusion (polymer-mex) segment, specifically the fast-growing consumer and prosumer FDM/FFF market that is transitioning from single-nozzle to multi-head, multi-color, and multi-material systems. Ruiles is a classic "picks and shovels" supplier in this value chain, capturing value not from printer sales but from the high-wear, high-precision components that enable the upgrade cycle. The investor thesis - that multi-head printing creates 4x to 8x component demand per printer - reflects a structural pull-through effect as the installed base of desktop FDM machines shifts toward more capable configurations. The company's dual manufacturing bases in Suzhou and Dongguan, combined with its German Bulber innovation lab, give it a credible R&D-to-production pipeline, but the competitive field includes established Taiwanese and Japanese component makers as well as rising domestic rivals.
