BigRep, the Berlin-based large-format additive manufacturing OEM, has signed a reseller agreement with Belgian technical services provider AdFortem. AdFortem takes over sales, application consulting, installation, training, and technical support for BigRep's industrial printer portfolio in Belgium effective immediately, alongside distribution of BigRep's materials and software. The companies are targeting Belgium's automotive, machinery, aerospace, plastics, and industrial equipment sectors, citing use cases such as assembly jigs, molds, housings, and spare parts. CEO Thomas Janics and EMEA business development manager Tony Arnaud both framed the deal as pairing BigRep's technology with AdFortem's local engineering expertise.
Large-format material extrusion competes on reducing machining time and enabling geometries that are costly to produce conventionally, but BigRep frames the economics as dependent on part size, production volume, material choice, post-processing, and tolerance requirements, not on the hardware alone. That qualification matters more for large-format systems than for desktop printers, since process parameters, material drying, build chamber temperature, and layer adhesion directly affect part quality at scale. A local reseller with trained applications engineers lowers the operational barrier for Belgian manufacturers evaluating the technology, though BigRep's own messaging notes that lasting adoption still depends on integrating the process into existing design, testing, and production workflows rather than the distribution deal itself.
