Feiwo Technology (301232), a Shenzhen-listed manufacturer, completed a business registration change on June 3, 2026, formally adding additive manufacturing, 3D printing services, and basic material sales to its permitted business scope. The updated license also reflects a capital increase to approximately 105.13 million yuan. This move follows Feiwo's earlier acquisition of a 60% stake in Xinshan Aerospace, a metal 3D printing service provider specializing in LPBF and DED technologies.

The move signals a deliberate expansion strategy by a traditional Chinese industrial manufacturer into metal AM services. Feiwo, historically known for precision fasteners and aerospace components, is leveraging an acquisition to bypass the lengthy process of building in-house AM expertise from scratch. This aligns with the broader Chinese localization arc, where established suppliers absorb specialized AM firms to quickly gain service capacity and customer references. Xinshan Aerospace brings existing production capability in aerospace-grade alloys such as Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718, positioning Feiwo to compete alongside established Chinese service bureaus like BLT and Farsoon. The registration change formalizes Feiwo's commitment to offering AM as a complementary service, potentially targeting the growing demand for hybrid manufacturing in aerospace and industrial tooling.

Practically, Feiwo must now integrate Xinshan Aerospace's operations, qualify its processes for existing aerospace clients, and manage the dual challenges of scaling production while maintaining quality governance. The acquisition provides immediate capacity, but qualification cycles for new suppliers in aerospace remain multi-year efforts. For commercial buyers in China, Feiwo's entry adds another credible metal AM service option, though the real test will be delivery consistency and lead time reliability.
