Lyten will supply its PA1205 3D Graphene filament as the primary material on Modovolo's BFP modular FDM/FFF platform, a containerized system aimed at aerospace, motorsports, and industrial parts. Both firms are U.S.-based-Lyten in San Jose, California, and Modovolo in Syracuse, New York-and frame the deal as a domestically sourced and manufactured polymer AM supply chain. PA1205 is a nylon filament reinforced with Lyten's proprietary 3D Graphene; Lyten claims it beats carbon-fiber alternatives by 100% in X-Y tensile strength, 40% in Z tensile strength, and 50% in impact resistance, with less warping and faster print speeds. Modovolo has printed its Lift Quadcopter-X multi-payload drone with Lyten filaments since 2025, and the BFP architecture grew from that production need.
For Lyten, primary-material status on a deployable field platform is more than a materials SKU win: it embeds 3D Graphene PA1205 into a hardware roadmap for aviation and defense users who prioritize local supply resilience. Material suppliers that remain only on open filament catalogs rarely capture the qualification pull-through that arrives when a platform owner designs process windows and part families around one grade. The partnership extends an existing customer relationship into co-marketing at Civil-Military Innovation Institute events, Northern Strike exercises, and aerospace and motorsports venues through the rest of 2026.
The practical test is whether PA1205 becomes the default feedstock for BFP-printed drone and industrial structures once the platform scales.
