Modovolo and Lyten are jointly marketing Modovolo's modular BFP large-format 3D printer, now calibrated for Lyten's graphene-modified nylon filament PA1205. Modovolo has used Lyten filaments since 2025 to print structural components for its Lift Quadcopter-X multi-purpose drone, and built BFP in-house after finding no commercial system fast, large enough, or cost-effective enough for series production of aerospace-grade drone parts. The system is modular and designed for containerized manufacturing cells, letting printing capacity be deployed near maintenance sites or production facilities rather than centralized factories. Both companies are US-based and emphasize fully domestic sourcing and manufacturing across the BFP platform and PA1205 filament.

Lyten claims PA1205 delivers 100 percent higher X-Y tensile strength, 40 percent higher Z-axis strength, and 50 percent better impact resistance versus carbon-fiber-reinforced alternatives, plus faster print speeds and less deformation, though the announcement cites no independent test data, comparison filament, or testing standard. The partnership targets aerospace, motorsport, and industrial customers seeking resilient, locally sourced supply chains, and the companies plan to demonstrate the platform at Civil-Military Innovation Institute events and the Northern Strike military exercises.

Aerospace-grade qualification requires reproducible process windows, documented material batches, and mechanical testing beyond simply matching printer and filament, so the field demonstrations will be the first real test of how the system performs outside a controlled production environment.
